Last minute travel to Rio de Janiero Brazil - Rio de Janeiro is home to 10 million people, and all of them are dedicated to having the best time of their lives every day. The amazingly beautiful Avenida Atlântica is flanked on one side by white beach and azure sea and on the other by the pleasure-palace hotels that testify to the city's eternal lure. This is a city that has it all, great weather, great people, and great attractions.

Nearly all of Rio's attractions are found in the affluent Zona Sul, the neighborhoods on or near the beach. It is here that hotels, restaurants, shops, and nightlife are concentrated. During the day, Rio life focuses on the beaches, the most active of which remains Copacabana. The famed Ipanema beach is only a short beautiful walk down the Avenue. Beach life there is more restrained, but no less seductive. The western extension, Leblon, is an affluent, intimate community flush with good, small restaurants and bars. The more distant southern beaches, beginning with São Conrado and extending past the Barra to Grumari, become richer in natural beauty and increasingly isolated.

Rio is an amazingly modern city given its 400-year history. Most of the best urban attractions are located close to each other in the city center. There are amazing churches and museums that help present the best of this vibrant culture. Rio's restaurants serve some of the best steaks and meats to be had in the entire world, and the unique Brazilian style of cooking is not to be missed. Moreover, Rio features the greatest party in the world "Carnival" every year. Visitors to Carnival won't be disappointed when they see the amazing floats and beautiful people. Dancing, drinking, and having a good time are a must during Carnival, and also every other day of the year.

Visitors to Rio come with high expectations, and those expectations are definitely surpassed by what they find in this amazing city. The beaches are world-famous for a reason. The downtown area is simply amazing. The Brazilian culture is beautiful because the people of Brazil are amazingly warm and generous towards their guests. The motto here is certainly that everybody must have a great time. The people of Rio and its thousands of visitors are certainly dedicated to making that proposition come true.

Last Minute Travel to Lima Peru - Called Ciudad de los Reyes, City of the Kings, by the Spanish conquerors, Lima was founded by Francisco Pizarro on January 18,1535 in the Rímac Valley. Lima is now the capital of the Republic of Peru, and a great metropolis with nearly 8 million residents. The Costa region of Peru, in which Lima is located, is a narrow coastal plain consisting of large tracts of desert broken by fertile valleys. Cotton, sugar and rice plantations and most of the country's oil fields are in this area. Beyond Lima, lies the Sacred Valley, the Inca ruins and, high in the Andes, the spectacular ancient city of Machu Picchu.

Bird and marine life is abundant along Peru's desert coast, with sea lions, Humboldt penguins, Chilean flamingoes, Peruvian pelicans, and Inca terns all native to the region. This priceless wildlife is protected in a system of national parks and reserves.

Lima's climate can be divided into two seasons: wet and dry . The coast and western Andean slopes are dry most of the year, with summer occurring between December and April. During the rest of the year, the garúa coastal fog moves in, and the sun is rarely seen.

In recent years, the Mayor of Lima has carried out a vigorous campaign for the restoration of the city center. Numerous buildings have been refurbished inside and out, including restoration of their grand old balconies. There have also been successful campaigns to restore order and cleanliness to the heart of the capital. Today the center of Lima is an area in which to enjoy a city tour either on foot or by bus.

Salsa is an imported form of popular music which originated in Colombia and is now heard throughout the continent. Many enjoyable evenings can be spent dancing vivaciously to this music in one of the crowded salasdromas in Lima. The hour at which night life begins is close to midnight, though most clubs open around 10pm for the "early birds." Jazz clubs, salsadromas, peñas (featuring traditional Andean music), and criollas (offering the music that is a blend of African, traditional and Spanish influences) are all in full swing throughout the weekend nights.

Last Minute Travel to Caracas - Caracas’ best attraction may be its people. They are a diverse, young, and lively population that colors the streets of the capital with laughter, music, and unrestrained enthusiasm. The sophisticated tastes of the 4 million inhabitants demand the endless parades of boutiques and fine restaurants that crowd upscale commercial areas. Caracas features an enormous cultural center called Bellas Artes, museums and concert halls. This capital city is hip, fast paced, and altogether cosmopolitan. At the same time, the people exhibit a special warmth and hospitality.

Although Caracas is a sprawling metropolis, its places of interest can be explored comfortably in a day or two. Caracas can be divided into four principal areas of interest: the downtown El Centro district and its monument packed Plaza Bolívar; Parque Central and the surrounding Bellas Artes cultural district; Las Mercedes and the Bulevar Sabana Grande, with its many boutiques and restaurants; and the residential, very wealthy suburbs of Altamira and La Castellana. Few of the museums charge admissions fees, and there is plenty to see and learn in this South American capital.

Worldly museums and cultural centers, lively bars, and refined dining establishments are all interconnected by the city's clean, efficient subway system. The weather, too, facilitates exploring: At 3,000 feet above sea level, Caracas has one of the world's most comfortable climates, with an average daily temperature of 75°F.
