PENNSYLVANIA - Last minute travel specials to Philadelphia, Lancaster, Valley Forge, Pittsburgh, Harrisburg, Hershey, Allentown, Wilkes Barre, and Scranton.

Philadelphia - America's first capital city, Philadelphia is rich in American history and culture. From Independence Hall, where the Declaration of Independence was signed in 1776 proclaiming American independence, to Penn's Landing, named after the influential and charismatic governor William Penn, Philadelphia has much to teach visitors about the early years of America. At the same time, Philadelphia is a bustling city with modern attractions and entertainment.

Philadelphia was and remains to this day a cultural center. Benjamin Franklin himself helped found many of the educational and cultural offerings of the city. Numerous universities and museums can be found here in the City of Brotherly Love. The Philadelphia Art Museum is the third largest in the country with over 300,000 different items. Other museums celebrate the Philadelphia's place in American history. Philadelphia also boasts numerous entertainment centers, such as Penn's Landing where a wonderful collection of historical ships provides the background for numerous restaurants and entertainment venues.

Hershey - The factory town of Hershey, Pennsylvania has become a major tourist destination, especially for families with children. Standing on the corner of Chocolate and Cocoa Avenue, with the wonderful aroma of Hershey's chocolate filling the air, visitors find it easy to understand why Hershey is known as "the sweetest place on earth."

More last minute travel to Pittsburgh - Exit the Fort Pitt Tunnel and you will be suddenly struck by the stark beauty and glistening majesty of Downtown Pittsburgh's stone, glass and steel architecture. Formerly the entrance to the 19th century frontier and the powerhouse of 20th century industry, this city of 400,000 is a city to watch in the next millennium.

The Andy Warhol Museum -- the nation's only large-scale museum dedicated to a single artist -- is a popular choice, as is its sister, the Carnegie, with both natural history and art museums. Explore the area's past in the Heinz Regional History Center, or visit the Fort Pitt Museum for a Colonial perspective. Pittsburgh has a world-class symphony orchestra and ballet, as well as many other groups from Baroque to contemporary music, modern dance to performance art, Shakespearean theater and Broadway plays to the newest dramatic works..

Harrisburg - The capital of Pennsylvania, Harrisburg rests on the Susquehanna River about 90 miles west of Philadelphia. Visitors come to Harrisburg to learn a little history, but mostly to relax in the beautiful countryside. The State Capitol building features a 272-foot dome, patterned after that of St. Peter's in Rome. The Capitol sits near a 68-acre downtown park that offers several museums of natural science and history, including the William Penn Memorial Museum. Nearby Hershey, Pennsylvania is the home of the Hershey chocolate factory and amusement park.
